Bulgarian white swordsman
The Bulgarian white swordsman is a fish with a bright albinistic color and red eyes. It is similar to the lemon swordsman, however, their difference is observed in the more stable and strong constitution of the Bulgarian white swordsman. This type of fish appeared when crossing with Russian swordsmen.
The Bulgarian white swordsman is undemanding to food. They are located for overeating food, but experts do not recommend feeding them more than twice a day. Their food should be varied, for example, in the morning you can give vegetable food, and in the evening - dry.
The list of products that swordsmen can eat:
Dry and freeze-dried food (granules, flakes, chips);
Live or frozen food (bloodworms, daphnia, etc.);
Vegetable food (algae located in the aquarium, or spinach leaves, scalded in advance with boiled water and finely chopped);
Egg yolk, crackers, boiled fish (before serving, grind thoroughly).
As a vitamin, Bulgarian white swordsman should be given granules, or flakes with the addition of spirulina, as well as special tablets on algae.
Maintenance and care
For the maintenance of the Bulgarian white swordsman, the following requirements must be learned:
The best water temperature for fish in the aquarium is 23-25 ° C;
Due to the fact that the Bulgarian white swordsman tolerates a decrease in temperature, it is allowed to lower the water temperature to 18 ° C;
You should choose the best option for the aquarium - an aquarium in the shape of a rectangle;
It is advisable to purchase a 25-liter aquarium (for 5 fish);
The aquarium should be well lit, so it is better to purchase a table lamp for the aquarium;
The more algae in the aquarium, the better for its inhabitants (they serve as shelter, produce oxygen, serve as food;
It is better to cover the bottom with small sea stones, shells;
A special device should be purchased to supply oxygen to the fish;
The aquarium should be covered with glass so that there is a gap for air, but the fish could not jump out;
Water changes should occur once a week;
You should not keep more than two males in one aquarium (they begin to fight).
The Bulgarian white swordsman is able to get along with the same calm type of fish as he is.
A distinctive feature of females and males is that the male has a bright color, a sword, it is much smaller than the female. In order to breed, a slender male is selected, which has reached 8 months and a length (without a sword) of 7-8 centimeters. The male should be proactive, as far as possible, should have a long sword. Females are selected from the descendants of the most fruitful fish. Fertilization in the female is observed in her belly enlargement. Pregnancy lasts for 5 weeks. A couple of days before the appearance of fry, the female should be transplanted into a separate container with a volume of 20 liters from 25-27 ° C. The aquarium, or the jar where the pregnant female is placed, must be provided with algae so that the fry have shelter. After the fry are hatched, the female must be transplanted to all fish in the aquarium, and the fry should be left in the tank.
The puberty of the Bulgarian white swordsman occurs in 5-6 months. Mating occurs with the help of the male genital organ - gonopodia. The breeding of the Bulgarian white swordsman is quite simple. All that they need from a person is stable feeding.
At one time, the female can bring up to 50 fish. Initially, newborn fish should be fed with microworms, live dust, cyclops. The fry grow quickly, and after 2 months the sword begins to grow in males.
An interesting fact is that at any moment the female can become a male, or vice versa.
When mating a Bulgarian white swordsman with marble swordsmen, you may get white fish with dark eyes.
